Nuts
A study out of China suggests that as little as two teaspoons of nuts a day can improve cognitive function by 60% compared to those who are not eating nuts. The researchers studied adults over 55 years of age and found that the nuts slowed cognitive decline dramatically. Peanuts, which are actually a legume, were singled out as particularly beneficial due to their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It should be noted that peanuts have a very low glycemic index and would tend to stabilize blood sugars.
